Your Campus Briefing
Updated October 10, 2026. Check current state requirements before each event.
California opens a major new market
SB 868 was signed September 30, 2026. Its new residential pathway is expected January 1, 2027, with a 1,200 W aggregated AC limit per dwelling and qualifying equipment requirements. Use this semester to compare options and prepare your space.
California status and next steps
Match your campus message to your state
New Jersey's signed law takes effect March 1, 2027; New York's SUNNY Act is still awaiting the governor's decision in our tracker. Maryland and Colorado have enacted frameworks. Always check the current state page before an event.

Plan the demonstration before connecting
A residential state pathway does not automatically authorize a campus installation. Get facilities and property approval, confirm electrical and equipment requirements, and use a non-grid-connected exhibit if a live connection is not approved.
